It would pretty arrogant to think that the only cooper is sly.
but that's not so, many coopers had son and daughters.
a brother has a older brother so the older brother gets the cane, the younger is put as a side branch member.
only the main branch keeps the cane and book, the rest of us learn the hard way....FYI.
